How well do you know Metro art? Challenge yourself (and your closest friend) on Saturday by joining in on the LA Metro Art Adventure. Hunt for clues through Metro’s system and discover art you may not have noticed before. The race begins at 10 a.m. and will last about 3 hours. Winners get a shiny medal and bragging rights! Starting location might be Pershing Square (Metro Red/Purple Line, Metro Bus 14) – make sure to confirm this after you register. Registration is $35 per person (open until 5 p.m. today), and you’ll also need to get a $5 Metro Day Pass.

If you can’t make this one, there are other Metro-able races in Hollywood, Chinatown, Little Tokyo,Culver City and Old Pasadena.

Also on Saturday are the Git-Hoan Dancers at the Keck Children’s Amphitheatre in the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Watch them perform with stunning, hand-carved masks. There will be two performances: 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Both performances are free to attend. (Metro Red/Purple Line to Civic Center Station, Metro Bus 14/37 to 1st/Grand)

Check out the Feria de Salud on Sunday at Olvera Street Plaza. The health fair will offer free screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and more, and there will also be music and entertainment. The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to all. (Metro Bus 84/68 to Main/Paseo de la Plaza or Metro Gold/Red/Purple Line to Union Station)

Honor America’s veterans on Veterans Day this Sunday at Memorial Park in Pasadena. The Pasadena Senior Center is hosting a Veterans Day salute and barbeque at the park. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and will feature the Condor Squadron fly-over at 11:11 a.m., followed by lunch and entertainment. Cost is $1 per person with pre-paid registration.
