A bridge, a Carmageddon and Saturday night

Here are a few photos I took late Saturday afternoon and early evening. Disclosure: I applied some filters and other processing to try to hide my photographic deficiencies. Plus, I like how they look. Click on any of them to see larger.

Work on the Mulholland Bridge about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Photos by Steve Hymon/Metro.

Looking north toward the San Fernando Valley in the late afternoon. The vintage filter comes from the Snapseed app for iPhone/iPad.

What do you do when you forget to fully focus? Apply filters to make it look like you did it on purpose! This was taken after a big chunk of the western span of the bridge fell.

Work continues on the western span after nightfall.

Hoe-rams at work on the big chunk of debris from the bridge’s eastern span.

Looking north to the Valley on a very quiet 405 about 9 p.m. Saturday.
