Head to Dance Downtown at the Music Center Plaza this Friday for the beauty, passion, drama and excitement of the Argentine Tango! Dance in the open air to live music. All skill levels are welcome, whether you’re looking to learn or hoping to impress a date on the dance floor. Several instructors will be on site to offer lessons. Dance Downtown is free to attend and lasts from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Metro Red/Purple Line to Civic Center Station, exit towards Temple St. and walk one block north. The Los Angeles Kings won Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals on a brilliant goal by center Anze Kopitar. Game Two against the New Jersey Devils is Saturday at 5 p.m. and the restaurants and bars at L.A. Live are offering a variety of specials and discounts for Kings fans watching the game — it’s in Newark — on the TV. The Kings website has the rundown. Street Food Cinema takes place at Expo Park on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Combining the movie “MI4: GHOST PROTOCOL” with the band 28 NORTH and food trucks, don’t miss this great outdoor community gathering. Dogs, children and neighbors are welcome. The band goes on at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $10 – get them in advance. Sunday is the seventh annual Lummis Day Festival, which will take place at Lummis Home & Garden and Heritage Square Museum. The day begins at Lummis Home at 10:30 a.m. and features poetry readings, music, art exhibits and refreshments. At 5 p.m. the fun moves to Heritage Square Museum for music and dance performances and community activities. Here’s the event map. A free shuttle will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to get you from venue to venue. Go Metro and receive a free goodie bag at the Lummis Day Booth located at Heritage Square Museum.
