Here’s a map showing the Metro Rail system, including lines and busways under construction — i.e. the Expo Line, Orange Line Extension and Gold Line Foothill Extension.
It was on display for the media this morning and shows how the Metro system is growing. The official new Metro Rail map is in production.

It’s been on Metrolink’s maps for years now because the projected opening date was Summer 2010.
Its about time we get rail service to the Ocean!!! Why is the Expo Line not a primary color on this map?? Its kind of invisible to people who live on the Westside to be honest a darker color like red, green, or blue would have been much appreciated… Anyways, I cant wait to ride the line on April 28,2012 when it finally opens to the public!!!
I once saw the Expo Line represented on a Metro Map a year and a half ago..
@Steve White: This is the “under construction” map of Metro Rail lines. This is not what will be posted in station display cases.
@Myles: See the PDF of the map here: http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/maps/images/rail_map_underconstruction.pdf
With the old maps, I always thought there was a giant, gaping hole that you could drive a truck through north of the Green Line.
Now, we just have to extend that purple stub out a bit further. And keep filling in the white space.
Hopefully someday (soonish) we’ll see a line DIRECTLY between the Valley and the Westside!
I would LOVE one of the old maps!
It’s wonderful to see that huge gap in West LA finally filling in 🙂
Nice to see it also lists future stations in the works right now, just hope they all open sooner than planned.
How about a map that one could read and see the stops? This map had to come from somewhere. How about the source rather than a cell shot.
Is this the one that will be posted at stations? I know there’s a key and the stations aren’t solid, but I hope it doesn’t confuse riders when the Expo line and Gold line abruptly end halfway to their eventual destinations.
Yea!!! If it’s on the map, it must exist! Looking forward to riding!
