Visit by President Obama later today likely to impact bus service on Westside

As has been widely reported, President Obama is due to arrive at LAX about 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the White House website. He’s then scheduled to deliver remarks at “campaign events” at 6:10 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. at private residences.

The events are on the Westside, meaning there will likely be disruptions to some Metro bus routes. As we’ve explained in the past, the route that the President will take from the airport to events is not disclosed ahead of time for security reasons and, therefore, all we can say at this time is that there could be street closures on the Westside later today and Metro customers may be impacted by possible detours of some bus routes.

Customers can get service alerts on Metro’s regular Twitter feed, Metro’s service alert Twitter feed or via text message.

  1. i asked that question based on the assumption obama was motorcading straight from lax. won’t be as bad if he (or his successor) helicopters the whole way.

  2. when the expo line opens, are they going to route the motorcade under an aboveground station?
