Here’s something you don’t see everyday. It’s from the recent wedding of Juan Matute and Sirinya Tritipeskul. They met while graduate students at UCLA where they were also part of the leadership of Bruins for Transit during the Measure R campaign in 2008. They’re transit geeks in the best sense of that term, and the theme permeated their wedding including the Big Blue Bus cake you see here. Other transit elements of their nuptials included a “save the date” announcement that looked like a Metro TAP card, an invitation that looked like a timetable and place cards that looked like New York City Metrocards. They point out that they do indeed love and ride Metro buses and trains but chose to have a Big Blue Bus cake since they live in Santa Monica and ride those buses too.
