Night-time closures of Skirball Bridge planned for 405 project

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements contractor will need to perform additional utility relocation work along the Skirball Bridge in Los Angeles, work that will require the closure of the bridge on a nightly basis for approximately three months between the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

Utility work consists of power, sewer, water, and telecom lines that need relocation in support of the reconstruction of the Skirball Bridge.  Some weekend work may be required on occasion.

ATTENTION COMMUTERS, RESIDENTS, AND BUSINESSES IN THE VICINITY OF SKIRBALL CENTER DRIVE

What:    On-going utility relocation in and around the Skirball Bridge.  The Skirball Bridge will be closed on a nightly basis.

When:  The nightly closure of the Skirball Bridge is anticipated to begin Thursday, October 20, 2011, and last for approximately three months, weather permitting.  The Skirball Bridge will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Where:  Skirball Bridge

What to expect:

  • Emergency vehicle access will be maintained
  • Pedestrians will be rerouted to a safe area outside of the construction zone
