Metro is expecting major service disruptions in the West Hollywood area later this afternoon and evening, due to President Obama’s visit to Los Angeles and West Hollywood. Travelers are being encouraged to allow extra time or to avoid the West Hollywood area, if possible.
For security reasons Metro does not have the exact route the President will travel but is expecting bus operations to be impacted on three streets this afternoon: Sunset Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente — all between Doheny and La Cienega.
We don’t have exact times that the disruptions are due to take place, but the President’s plane is scheduled to land at LAX at 4:40 p.m. — so it’s likely after that.
Later, Metro is anticipating disruptions on La Cienega between Santa Monica and Wilshire boulevards. Even later in the evening, bus disruptions could occur on Wilshire between La Cienega and Beverly Hills.
And then there’s tomorrow morning when the President leaves. No details yet. Stay tuned. For up-to-the-minute details watch Metro Service Alerts on metro.net and on Twitter.
