The Metro Board voted to continue the agency’s involvement in the Arts District Business Improvement District in downtown Los Angeles.
As the owner of 15 parcels in the Arts District — including the subway rail yards — Metro would pay about $110,000 in taxes in the next fiscal year.
Here’s the staff report on the issue. Several people — including L.A. Councilwoman Jan Perry — spoke in favor of the B.I.D, while a few residents of the area questioned what they’re getting in return for the B.I.D. taxes.
