At the request of the Federal Transit Administration, Metro on Friday will recirculate a supplement to the Regional Connector’s draft environmental impact statement/report. This is an update of portions of the previously circulated Draft EIS/EIR.

The public will have 45 days to review the document and provide comments. The document will be available on metro.net as well as public libraries near the planned route for the Connector.

The Regional Connector is a planned 1.9-mile underground light rail line in downtown Los Angeles that will tie together the Gold Line, Blue Line and future Expo Line in order to provide speedier service through downtown for Metro Rail passengers.

The document has refinements to the Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) — i.e. the route for the rail line — that Metro has been sharing with the community at meetings, and provides an opportunity to share the refinements with a broader audience. The refinements involve the alignment of the tunnel through Little Tokyo.

The formal announcement from Metro is posted after the jump.
