Second CicLAvia This Sunday, April 10

Cyclists enjoy first CicLAvia Oct. 10, 2010.

The time has come for L.A.’s second CicLAvia.  This Sunday, April 10, bicyclists, pedestrians, joggers and skateboarders are expected to converge in the Downtown L.A. area for the nearly eight mile ride between Boyle Heights and East Hollywood. The event route will be the same as the first CicLAvia last October.

Metro Rail will be the best option for L.A. County enthusiasts to attend Ciclavia without driving.  Metro Red/Purple Line stations along the route include:  Vermont/Santa,  Vermont/Beverly, Wilshire/Vermont, Westlake/MacArthur Park, 7th/Metro, Pershing Square and Civic Center Stations.  The Little Tokyo/Arts District Metro Gold Line Station is also near the route as it passes from Downtown L.A. to East Los Angeles and back.

There will be some impacts to Metro Bus service during the event.  These include Metro Line 2, 4, 10 (Rte. 48), 14 (Rte. 37), 16, 18, 20, 26 (Rtes. 51 & 52), 28, 30, 33, 40, 42, 53, 55, 60, 62, 70, 71, 76, 78 (Rte. 79), 81, 83, 84 (Rte. 68), 90 (Rte. 91), 92, 94, 96, 439, 445, 460, 485, 487, 603, 720, 733, 760, 794, and 910.

Metro patrons should anticipate bus detours and delays to service, as well as the temporary relocation of bus stops along the route.  Temporary stops will be located as near to original stops as possible.
