Suggested itinerary:  tonight experience great experimental rock at the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts featuring The Oh Sees, on Saturday head over to Inglewood to see what learn about plans to revitalize the community (and the Crenshaw Line’s part in this) and on Sunday check out Variedades at The Echoplex, a new vaudeville style show.

The architects behind Father’s Office in Culver City and Zen Zoo in Hollywood are currently working on a revitalization plan for Inglewood’s underutilized Market Street. The master plan centers on a proposed MTA stop and explores the possibility of an urban agriculture zone, adaptive re-use zoning, and a green belt and water reservoir.

Variedades at The Echoplex
A monthly salon-performance hosted by writer and performer Rubén Martínez. In Spanish, “variedades” literally means “variety,” as in “variety show,” or vaudeville in the vernacular of the early 20th century when many theaters in downtown Los Angeles featured live entertainment for the rapidly growing Mexican community.
