I-405 Freeway Restriping, Column Demolition Work Planned at Skirball Bridge March 17, 18 and 23
The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements contractor plans to re-stripe freeway traffic lanes to set up a work zone as well as demolish the center column of the Skirball Bridge in Los Angeles March 17, 18 and 23, an activity that will require full directional freeway closures each night during the late night hours of 12 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Re-striping is anticipated to occur on the nights of March 17 and 18, and the column demolition is anticipated to occur on the night of March 23. Some freeway lanes will begin to close as early 10 p.m. and the Skirball ramps may close as early 7 p.m. During the night of column demolition March 23, the Skirball Bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
What: Skirball Bridge column demolition and the re-striping of freeway lanes near the Skirball Bridge, which requires a full directional freeway closure each night
When: The freeway lane re-striping is anticipated to occur on the nights of March 17 and 18 and the bridge column demolition is anticipated to occur on the night of March 23.

What to Expect:
- Sepulveda Blvd. will remain open during the nights of bridge demolition and be used as a detour route. Detour maps are available at www.metro.net/I405. Upon completion of the freeway lane re-striping work activity there will be the same amount of lanes that currently exist on the I-405 freeway.
- Emergency access will be maintained on the bridge at all times. Pedestrians will be rerouted to an area outside the construction zone.
