Community meetings begin tonight for Westside Subway Extension

Here’s the press release below — the meetings are a good chance for members of the public to get updates on some of the many issues still being analyzed by Metro’s planning staff:

Metro is busy conducting a Final EIS/EIR for the Westside Subway Extension. Please join us for the first round of community update meetings for this last planning phase of the project. At these meetings, Metro will provide stakeholders with background on the study to date, what community members can expect during the Final EIS/EIR and an overview of the anticipated subway construction process. Whether or not you have followed the project so far, you are encouraged to provide input on Metro’s progress with the Westside Subway Extension at any of these upcoming meetings.

  1. Is there free, secure bike parking?

Since Metro is paying to validate parking for motor vehicles at one of the locations, will Metro validate my day pass, or pass out free transit tickets?

If not, why is Metro subsidizing car drivers at the expense of its own customers?

  2. All 3 meetings begin at 6:00 PM. Information is available on the project web site (www.metro.net/westside) or on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WestsideSubwayExtension).
