Lightning in downtown Los Angeles affects Eastside Gold Line service from Mariachi Plaza to Maravilla stations

A lightning strike in downtown Los Angeles a little after 2 p.m. briefly knocked out power in the Red Line Rail facility and caused a power loss from Maravilla to Mariachi stations on the Gold Line Eastside Extension. Subway service is not affected.

A shuttle train is operating between Atlantic and Maravilla. A bus bridge is being assembled to ferry passengers between Maravilla, Indiana, Soto and Mariachi Plaza stations.

Metro Bus Line 30 on First St. and Montebello Bus Line 40 on Third St. can be used as alternate service. The service north of Mariachi to Union Station and Sierra Madre Villa is not impacted.
