Ski season is now in full swing across much of the western U.S., so this great photo has some seasonal appeal. Christopher took the photo of the local “Ski Train” in a blizzard in Denver in March of ’09. The train connects Denver to the Winter Park resort above town in the Rockies. Sadly, there’s nothing like that in California — the closest thing is the Amtrak train that takes about five-and-a-half hours to run the about 200 miles between the East Bay and Truckee, which is near the ski resorts on Lake Tahoe’s north shore.
