Bus detours this afternoon in downtown L.A. due to police brutality rally

A rally and march to end police bruality is taking place this afternoon in downtown Los Angeles and will impact bus service in the area. Bus service will be affected from Pershing Square in downtown to MacArthur Park in Westlake. If possible, use Metro Rail to avoid delays. Buses will stop at detours any place it is safe to do so.

Here is the list of detours from Metro’s bus operations staff:

LINE: 2, 4, 10/48, 90 (91), 81, 83, 94.
Eastbound:    Regular route to Hill St. and 3rd St. then continue via Hill St. to (L) 4th St., (R) Broadway,
(R) 8th St., (L) Hill St. and regular route.

Westbound:    Regular route to Hill St. and 7tyh St. then continue via Hill St. to (R) 6th St., (L) Broadway
(L) 3rd St., (R) Hill St. and regular route.

Line 14
Southbound:   Regular route to Grand Ave. &  1st St., via 1st St., to (R) Spring St., (R) 8th St.,
(L) Grand Ave. and regular route.

Northbound:    Regular route to Olive St. & 8th St. , then via Olive St., (R) 7th St., (L) Broadway,
(L) 1st St. to Olive St. and regular route.
Line 16
Westbound:    Regular route to 5th St. and Main St. then continue via 5th St. to (R) Main St., (L) 3rd St.,
To Witmer St. and regular route.

Eastbound:    Regular route to 3rd St. and Bixel St. then continue via 3rd St. merge right after
Bixel St. to 4th St. remain on 4th St. to (R) Spring St., (L) 6th St. and regular route.

Eastbound:    Regular route to 6th St. and Rampart Blvd. then (R) Rampart Blvd. to (L) 7th St.,

  1. I take the Silver Line to/from downtown on weekdays. It appears that the detour information on this page was different from when I checked it in the morning and then in the late afternoon. I went bus hunting on foot all over downtown until I caught one at City Hall. People at Civic Center were waiting almost an hour for a bus that comes every 5 minutes. No posted signs at the stops that weren’t being made. Not cool, Metro.
