@MetroLosAngeles Twitter Tuesday

Welcome to Twitter Tuesday, a weekly feature here at The Source in which we’ll round up the latest Metro related tweets in the Twitterverse. To follow Metro on Twitter just search for @MetroLosAngeles. We recommend adding the #MetroLosAngeles tag to your tweets to get our attention.

And when it comes to complaints, the best way to get them addressed is to use the Customer Comment Form on Metro.net. There you can provide all the detail needed so that customer service reps may best address your problems.

Rants:

gbrey @metrolosangeles have to stop taking Westbound Olympic buses (28/728) always late, can never trust the schedule!

jmossinca @metrolosangeles It really stinks that, come December, Line 920 is being eliminated. So much for RAPID transit. #metrofail

tykejohnson @metrolosangeles Construction during rush hour on an east/west arterial road. Keep on failing la. #728 #olympicfail

CarlessValGirl Bus 165… can’t you ever arrive on-time? Six minutes makes a difference. I’ll likely miss my connection again… #metrolosangeles

FredCamino oh boy, @MetroLosAngeles 2 late night fail… calling taxi

thebusbench And who does #Metrolosangeles think they are 2% use their product & they call critiques of the service rants, so disrespectful.

@thebusbench, no disrespect intended. Sometimes Metro service gets on all our nerves and we vent on Twitter. As you can see, I’m even guilty of a rant this week.

But hey, if anyone else is upset by the use of the word rant, let us know the comments – if there’s significant response we’ll change it to something less offensive.

Compliments:

nbrunskill Thanks @metrolosangeles for getting me to Union Station so easily. So fun passing jammed traffic riding the green line and the silver line.

Comments on the heat wave, plus a few observations and a good idea, after the jump.

Heat wave:

davidklor Blue Line theme of this 100 degree day: It’s not the heat, it’s the humanity. #metrolosangeles

RedEbbm Sorry #metrolosangeles I don’t like to be mean but your trains are not made for extreme weather conditions 😛 I know they are rare but still

thebusbench At greenline Rosa Parks. Interesting #metrolosangeles fact it’s very hot at the station because the benches aren’t under the shade.

reubenduarte Dear @MetroLosAngeles, please install cover for the westbound No. 2 bus stop at Sunset & Sweetzer. There’s no shade and it’s bright and hot!

gometro Calling all @metrolosangeles riders : it is 100+ degrees in the greater LA area. Don’t forget your deodorant. Please … I am begging you.

thefrikness @metrolosangeles what is the pt of posting a mod sched if trains are still going to run late? waited 8 xtra min in 112 deg heat 🙁

Observations in transit:

tykejohnson Eastsiders its easy 2 get 2 a beach 4 @healthebay by public transit. Take #metrolosangeles #720 (wilshire) #704 (sm) #733 (venice) or #BBB10

reinix @metrolosangeles Is there a Metro app for iPhone/Android devices? If not, there should be. With schedules, routes, maps, tweets, and all. 😀

@reinix, Metro recently released an app for iPhone. Check it out by searching for “Go Metro” in the iTunes store or check out this page for more info.

Good ideas:

kenyaw I know the way to #LAX & had to tell @metrolosangeles riders at Imperial/Wilmington Station wayfinding should say take Redondo Beach train
