The art of transit

photo by Mark Luethi, via Flickr

Today’s photo is freeway oriented and is likely a familiar view for anyone who drives or walks along Hill Street in the northern part of downtown Los Angeles. That’s the Hollywood Freeway with the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at left and Central High School #9 at right.

To submit a photo or photos of something transportation-related, post them to Metro’s Flickr group or email them to sourcemetro@gmail.com. The photos we’ve featured can be seen in these galleries on Flickr. Or click on the ‘art of transit’ below.

  1. Nice photo… I’d love to see this portion of the 101 (along with it’s sister trench in Hollywood) capped and covered with a park, like some city planners have proposed! It would do an awful lot to bring downtown’s fragmented walk/bike-ability into focus, from the Civic Center to Chinatown.
