Today in the art of transit

photo by Marciana Verquist, via Flickr

It may be a freight train and not transit, but it’s still an awesome photo taken last month in the West Bottoms part of Kansas City. The vibrancy of the colors and the light on the brick buildings really caught my eye, along with the slight blur that brings the movement of the train to life. The image was created by blending several photos together — a technique known as high dynamic range imaging.

If you would like to a submit a photo or photos of something transportation-related, post them to Metro’s Flickr group or email them to sourcemetro@gmail.com. The photos we’ve featured can be seen in these galleries on Flickr. Or click on the ‘art of transit’ below to view our daily posts.
