The above photo shows a 1.5-mile stretch of Vine Street in Hollywood from the Capitol Records building — the fins of the building in the far left in the foreground — to the El Royale building south of Melrose. In between, a Metro bus can even be seen crossing Santa Monica Boulevard. Chris Camargo, a professional photographer based here in Los Angeles, was wandering the neighborhood north of the 101 freeway and came across this vista.
Chris explains more about how he captured the image on Flickr — he cleverly stitched together three separate images. He also includes a link to a Google map that he constructed showing landmarks along Vine that are in the photo.
The photo was taken in Feb. 2009 with a Nikon D300 with a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second, an aperture of f/9.0, a focal length of 240 mm and an ISO setting of 1600.
