Preliminary indications are operator error caused Blue Line crash last week, Metro officials say

Metro officials on Wednesday said that there are preliminary indications that the accident last week in which a Blue Line train struck a Long Beach police car was caused by operator error. Officials told the agency’s Board of Directors planning committee today that their investigation is also ongoing.

A Long Beach police officer suffered moderate injuries in the accident. The Long Beach Police said last week that their review of videotapes indicated that the train ran past a red signal.
