Repairs to a ruptured gas main at a construction site near Vernon and Long Beach Blvd. were completed. LAFD and LASD cleared restrictions to the area at 5:35 a.m.
What was happening:
Morning service on the Blue Line begins with a bus bridge to transport passengers between Washington and Slauson stations as Gas Company crews work to repair a ruptured gas main pipe at a nearby construction site at Vernon and Long Beach. LAFD and LASD are monitoring the area and restricting access while repairs continue. Service between Long Beach and Slauson stations and service between Washington station and 7th Street Metro Center continues with delays of up to 10 minutes. Passengers continuing their commute in either direction are directed to nearby buses.
