Yosemite National Park is 300-plus miles from Metro’s jurisdiction, but I’m guessing many of you are hitting the road this weekend, so here’s an update on the infamous Tioga Road that spans the northern part of Yosemite and is a good access route from the Eastern Sierra.
The update: As is often the case for Memorial Day, the road is not yet open due to heavy snows this winter (including some light snows yesterday). The park’s website doesn’t project an opening yet, but plowing is well underway. Meanwhile, the park also reports that Glacier Point Road, which accesses some famous views of the Yosemite Valley, could be open as early as tomorrow.
