I stumbled upon this video thanks to a tweet from the Urban Land Institute – Los Angeles.
Created for the Southern California Association of Governments, “Choices and Transformations: Managing Growth in California” takes a look at the history, present and future of urban development and redevelopment in Southern California. The video focuses primarily on the cities of Ventura and Fullerton and how infill development can transform these traditional suburban cities into walkable, sustainable and vibrant places that “people want to be in.”
It uses graphic animation combined with video footage to visualize transformed city blocks to great effect. Props go out to the documentary production company, FWFocus Productions, for creating such a beautifully shot and well put together piece about the future of our region.
