LAPD Chief Beck: respect cyclists — it’s the law

Today marks the beginning of Bike Week LA and Thursday is the annual bike-to-work day. So it seems appropriate to kick off the week with a PSA from Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck, with a gentle reminder that everyone needs to be mindful of cyclists and their right to share the road.

There are a ton of websites with safety tips for both cyclists and motorists — just Google cycling safety tips. Here’s one that I like, the Yield to Life site from former bike racer David Zabriskie, who had a serious accident in which he was hit by an SUV and who in response made cycling safety a mission.
