It’s included in today’s Go Metro Weekends roundup, but I think it’s worth mentioning again: this Sunday, Metro and the Watts Village Theater Company, along with a number of other local performance troupes will be putting on two performances that use Metro Rail stations as the stage.
The first performance is at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 2nd and the second performance is later that day at 4:00 p.m.
Reservations are limited but even if it’s full, solo visitors can drop by any of the venues and watch individual performances. Just grab a $5 Metro Day Pass or other valid Metro fare to experience the traveling theatrical extravaganza. The performances originate at Union Station and conclude at the Watts Towers Amphitheater near the Metro Blue Line 103rd St. Station.
Best bets for those without reservations are probably Union Station or Watts Towers, which have plenty of capacity. If I were going it alone, I’d go straight to Watts Towers, which is fun, pretty and interesting. And the weather should be perfect.
