For the third year in a row the Wilshire Center Business Improvement District (WCBID) will be throwing a Car-Free Earth Day celebration on the lawn of the Wilshire Park Plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on this Thursday, April 22nd.
The event will feature music and dance performances as well as an organic farmers market and eco-friendly activities for kids.
Also: if you’ve got some old electronics that you don’t use anymore there’s going to be an e-waste recycling booth there so you can dispose of old TV’s, computers and cell phones in a safe and environmentally sound way.
The WCBID is encouraging Angelenos to leave their cars at home on Earth Day – luckily Wilshire Center is one of the most Metro accessible spots in the city. The Purple Line Wilshire/Western Station is located a block from the festivities and Metro bus lines 20, 720, 920, 66/366, 207, 209, 710, 757 and 18 all serve the area. Bicyclists can also look forward to a bike valet at the event.
