The new Dodger Stadium Express bus service will be in operation tonight as the Dodgers face the Cleveland Indians in a preseason game. Service from Union Station to Dodger Stadium will start at 5:40 p.m. – 90 minutes before the game begins at 7:10 p.m. – and run every 10 minutes through the 3rd inning. Buses then run every 30 minutes through the 7th inning. Return service begins at the 7th inning and runs until 30 minutes after the game ends.

Fans can board the Dodger Stadium Express at Union Station at Bay 3 of the Patsaouras Transit Plaza and the bus will drop fans off right at the Center Field entrance of Dodger Stadium. The Union Station location means that riders can connect to the Dodger Stadium Express from Metrolink, Amtrak, Red Line, Purple Line and Gold Line in addition to the multitude of bus lines serving Union Station.

Fans who already have a ticket to the game will be able to ride the service for free, those who don’t are required to pay the regular Metro fare.

Not to steal thunder from the Dodger Stadium Express service, but here’s another tip from someone who’s been getting to Dodger Stadium on Metro long before the Stadium Express existed: if getting to Union Station is inconvenient but getting to Metro Local Line 2 or 4 is convenient, you can take either of those lines to Sunset Blvd./Innes Ave. and take a 10 minute walk up Elysian Park Ave. to Dodger Stadium. It’s not quite as door-to-door as the Dodger Stadium Express, but a good alternative for those living along Sunset or Santa Monica Boulevards.
