No specific threats but LASD increases security on Metro Rail

Although there have been no specific threats here, LASD has increased security on Metro Rail in response to today’s deadly bombings in the Moscow subway.

Dozens are believed dead from simultaneous attacks by female suicide bombers in two subway stations in downtown Moscow. The attacks occurred during rush hour, raising fears of an internal insurgency in southern Russia, according to newspaper reports.

In response to today’s bombings, LASD has increased security on Metro Rail, including deployment of additional K9 teams.

Metro will remain diligent in its efforts to provide the safest system for  passengers. LA Sheriffs will be adjusting schedules and shifts to provide added coverage as long as necessary to ensure the safety of the Metro system.
