Christine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, panics at the fictional West Hollywood subway station.
The most recent episode of the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine takes place largely within a fictional West Hollywood subway station that’s part of a fictional Westside subway line which is at the center of the plot. No, the show doesn’t take place in the future, but it seems CBS couldn’t wait for the real Westside subway to be built.
Even with Mayor Villaraigosa’s ambition 30/10 plan, a Westside subway is a long way off.
In the episode, Christine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) decides that her son and his sheltered private school classmates need to broaden their horizons by taking the subway to Walt Disney Concert Hall instead of the originally planned Hummer limousines. Hilarity ensues as it becomes apparent that Christine doesn’t have the street smarts to handle mass transit while the spoiled kids do just fine.

The subway system map, while impressive, is not even close to accurate.
You can watch the episode online for free. Keep an eye out for the West Hollywood station (rather drab by Metro’s standards) and a zany subway system map featuring a whole lot of rail lines and some really odd geography.
