I-405 Soil Testing Work Planned Beginning March 22

Here’s the latest construction notice for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project.

The contractor is planning to take soil stability tests needed for the future construction of retaining walls along the I-405.  Work is planned beginning Monday, March 22 for about four days near the Getty View Trailhead that runs along the northbound I-405 freeway between Getty Center Drive and Skirball Center Drive.  Work will be conducted at night and will require some freeway lane closures and ramp closures to ensure the safe use of the excavation equipment.  Here’s the full details:

What:  Soil stability testing, which will require two right hand freeway lane closures and the closure of the on and off ramps at Getty Center Drive on the northbound I-405 freeway.

When: Work is anticipated to start on Monday, March 22, 2010 and last for approximately four days.  Night time work for soil stability testing will be from 10:00pm to 6:00am.

Where: The Getty View Trailhead along the I-405 freeway between Getty Center Drive and Skirball Center Drive.

What to expect:

  • Ramp and lane closures will be coordinated with Caltrans.
  • Detour signs will be posted where ramp closures occur.
