I-405 Shoulder Work Planned for March 5-12

Grinding and saw-cutting work is planned for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project March 5 through 12.  Metro’s contractor will be shaving and leveling out the road pavement on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway between Getty Center Drive and Ventura Boulevard in phases.   Some ramp and lane closures are planned.  Details from the construction notice follow:

What: Freeway lane and ramp closures to perform saw-cutting and grinding work activity.

When: Night-time work activities for the two right freeway lane and ramp closures on the northbound and southbound I-405 freeway will continue and is anticipated to last for approximately three more weeks, weather permitting.  Lane and ramp closures will be from 10:00pm to 6:00am, with the freeway open to thru traffic.

Where: San Diego Freeway (I-405) between the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) and the Ventura Freeway (US- 101).  Saw-cutting and grinding work activities will be conducted in segments along the I-405 freeway. Freeway segments for the upcoming weeks are scheduled as follows:

Northbound I-405, Getty Center Drive to Skirball March 5, 8, and 9 3 Nights
Northbound I-405,  Skirball to Ventura Blvd. March 10, 11, and 12 3 Nights

What to expect:

  • Ramp and lane closures will be coordinated with Caltrans.  Detour signs will be posted where ramp closures occur.
  • There will be the same number of thru traffic lanes as there are currently at the completion of this activity.
