A strange incident occurred this afternoon on the Line 55 bus in downtown Los Angeles that resulted in pepper spray being discharged and both paramedics and police being summoned.
The incident apparently happened about 2:39 p.m. when a couple of people boarded the bus and tried to sell fake jewelry to a group of four passengers, according to Metro officials. When the buyers changed their mind, the sellers used pepper spray on them and got off the bus. Paramedics treated the buyers on the scene and no other passengers on the bus were injured.
The bus continued on its way after a short delay. The Metro communications department notes that robberies on Metro buses and trains are very rare.
