Metro.net named “LA’s Best Government Website” by LA Weekly

The votes have been counted and the results are in for LA Weekly’s first annual Los Angeles Web Awards – and Metro has walked away a winner.

Thousands of LA Weekly readers nominated websites, blogs and Twitter feeds in 36 different categories specific to the Los Angeles web landscape. The nominations were then judged by LA Weekly’s panel of web and social media experts who chose the winners in each category.

Metro’s website was nominated by readers and deemed “LA’s Best Government Website” website by the judges.

The agency is currently in the final phases of a complete redesign of their website. You can visit the Beta site or watch this introductory video to learn about the improvements to come.

Additional kudos go out to Streetsblog LA for winning “LA’s Best Local Activism Site”. The blog has proved itself an invaluable resource in increasing awareness of transportation alternatives in auto-centric Los Angeles, and we at The Source read and link to it often.
