Blue Line service disruptions on Nov. 20

The Expo Line has to be tied into the Blue Line in downtown L.A.

Lost in all the hub-bub surrounding the opening of the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension this weekend is the not-so-small fact that Metro also has another rail line under construction — the Expo Line between downtown Los Angeles and Culver City.

Unfortunately, that means there’s work to be done. In order to tie the Expo Line into the Blue Line, there will be no rail service on the Blue Line north of the Washington stop between the evening of Nov. 20 and close of service on Nov. 22 — Friday through late Sunday night/early Monday morning. Bus service will be added between the Metro Center terminus of the Blue Line and Washington.

We’ll provide you next week with more information about the service detour.  Here’s a link to a press release Metro recently issued and here’s a Google map showing the bus bridge that will be used to shuttle passengers between Washington station and Metro Center.
