Normal Gold Line service restored 4:40 pm

Normal service has been restored to the Metro Gold Line.

At about 1:15 p.m. an umbrella from a neighboring residence blew onto city power lines above train tracks, creating a potentially dangrous situation for the trains below. The Gold Line was closed beteen Highland Park and Southwest Museum stations for approximately 2 hours while DWP attempted to remove the umbrella from the power lines. Service resumed with single tracking at about 3:15 but all service has now been restored.
