My colleague Fred Dennstedt and I are headed off later this morning for our first ride on the Eastside Gold Line Extension. Local media are getting a preview ride on Friday, but as proud Metro contractors we get to see it before them. Neener-neener!

We’ll post our impressions later today. We’re both curious about some of the safety issues that have been in the news as well as the quality of the ride between East Los Angeles and Union Station.
