Update: Rail service restored to Gold Line

Metro Rail service has been restored between Allen Station and Sierra Madre Villa Station in the Pasadena area. Metro Gold Line trains are operating between these two stations on a single track. Patrons will be required to exit the train at Allen Station and board another Gold Line train to complete the trip to Sierra Madre Villa Station. The second track in the same area was damaged due to the big rig accident this morning and will remain out of service until further notice while crews repair the track. There is a five-minute delay along the remaining portion of the Metro Gold Line from Allen Station to Atlantic Station in East Los Angeles.

What was happening: Big rig truck overturns onto the Metro Gold Line tracks from the 210 freeway Thursday morning. No trains were involved

Gold Line update — major delays this morning

The Gold Line is only running between Atlantic and Memorial Park in downtown Pasadena this morning, due to an earlier accident on the 210 freeway in which a big rig flipped and is blocking the train’s right-of-way. No trains were involved.

As a result, there is no service between Lake Avenue and Sierra Madre Villa at this time. A bus bridge between the stations is being set up, but the Metro 181 bus or Foothill Transit 187 — both which run on Colorado Boulevard — can be used to travel between these stations. At this point, it appears it may take a few hours to clear the tracks.

Passengers at Memorial Park should use platform 1 to board trains.

Gold Line service alert

A traffic accident is impacting service on the Gold Line in Pasadena between Allen station and Sierra Madre Villa–a big rig on the eastbound 210 is blocking the tracks. A bus bridge between the two has been requested. Update to follow.
