Lashes by Shigeru is located along Metro’s Purple Line Extension, Section 1 project alignment at the corner of Wilshire and San Vicente. Business owners, Martin Hanai and Shigeru Hanai, have been managing the business on the ground level floor of Salon Republic since 2012.
Lashes by Shigeru has become a community staple and draws in both local and celebrity clients from all over the LA area. After learning about clients’ frustration with the results provided by other salons, Shigeru decided to start his own business that would provide quality services and products to his clients. With its spa-like experience and unique line of top-quality eyelash extensions, adhesives, and growth serums – all imported from Japan – Lashes by Shigeru has created a relaxed atmosphere that provides its customers with results that can last up to 5 weeks!
According to Martin Hanai, Lashes by Shigeru has experienced a decline in business due to Metro’s construction activity that includes street closures, fencing along the building and detours. “Construction has made it difficult for clients to reach us, but we are thankful for the help the BIF has been able to provide,” Martin said. “We look forward to seeing both our regular and new clients once the subway is open.”
Lashes by Shigeru is located at 8383 Wilshire Blvd, Studio 76, inside the beauty complex of Salon Republic. Business hours are Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. by appointment only.
