I Love Lulu, owned by Tallulah “Lulu” M. Holmes-Marcelin, is located at 733 S. La Brea Avenue along the Purple Line Extension corridor. The business has been operating at this location for the past four years. I Love Lulu is a best-in-class unique hair salon providing services and products to help their clients grow and maintain healthy hair naturally.

Tallulah Marcelin is a 20-year veteran of the beauty industry and has a reputation for innovative styling and hair-integrity preservation techniques. She has taken her personal knowledge of the outstanding benefits of steam treatments, organic ingredients and aromatherapy to hair to the next level so that it now benefits those outside of her regular celebrity clientele.

Metro’s Business Interruption Fund was started to assist “mom and pop” businesses that may be directly impacted by construction of Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX line, the Regional Connector Transit Project along the Little Tokyo area and the 2nd and Broadway segment and Phase I of the Purple Line Extension.

More than $2 million in grants have been awarded since the first grants were awarded to qualifying merchants in April 2015. The fund aims to provide financial assistance to support affected businesses’ ability to remain open throughout construction and realize the benefits of the new rail lines once completed.
