The art of transit

Here’s a nice photo of the tram at the relatively new City Center development. As Mark noted in an email, the whole scene has a nice Jetsons feel to it.

  1. It’s not the Las Vegas Monorail, rather it is the City Center tram, a completely different system. The Las Vegas Monorail is a bankrupt failure because it is too long yet doesn’t go to the airport or Downtown, and connects the back of the casinos. This is a traditional double rail tram that connects Bellagio on the north, Monte Carlo on the south, and City Center in the middle.

  2. Adding to calwatch, despite its sleek look this tram is pulled by cables like a horizontal elevator.
