The baseball team did well on Opening Day on Monday, as did the new Dodger Stadium Express bus service between Union Station and the ballpark — for a glimpse, check out the above video produced by Metro. There were about 2,900 boardings on 68 total bus trips or an average of 1,450 each way.
That’s more than double the number of the best day of bus service in the most recent incarnation of mass transit to the stadium during the 2008 season, when the city of Los Angeles provided the service. Metro officials told the Board of Directors’ Planning Committee today that it looked like a lot of the riders took Metrolink train service to Union Station and then transferred to the bus.
Metro officials also said that they were pleased that lines to board the bus back to Union Station were gone 30 minutes after the game’s last out.
